Professor Dr. Reda A. Ammar
Dr. Ammar has a long history of accreditation experience. To mention some of his major accomplishments in leading different accreditation teams of different institutes:
During his sabbatical leave (1995-1996) at the American University in Cairo, he served as the primary author of the Self Study Report (SSR) of the Computer Science program.
During his terms as the department head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Connecticut, he led the accreditation process three times in 2001, 2006 and 2013. In each of these cycles, he was the primary author of the SSR of the Computer Science and Engineering program and the co-author of the SSRs written for both of the Computer Science program and the Computer Engineering program.
Due his experience in leading the accreditation process at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Reda Ammar has been selected to lead the accreditation team at the following colleges:
Consulting record in curriculum development:
Dr. Ammar led a project establishing a new university in Saudi Arabia (Prince Muqrin National University) from the academic point of view. In this project he and his team developed 11 different programs (6 in Business and 5 in Engineering including Computer Science) and all supporting units (such as the English center, Library, Computer Center, Math and Science supporting unit and the general education unit). All programs were documented using both of ABET and NCAAA separately.
Dr Ammar is leading the project of developing 6 programs for the College of Engineering and Information Technology, University of Business and Technology (UBT), Jeddah, KSA. These programs are: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Software Engineering. All programs were documented using both of ABET and NCAAA separately.

- College of Computer and Information Sciences, King Saud University, KSA (All five programs). Four of these programs were accredited in 2011 and the last one was accredited in 2012. The ABET team was impressed with the quality of these self-study volumes and decided to display them as the ABET best of practice.
- College of Engineering, Umm Al-Qura University, KSA (Mechanical Engineering). This program was accredited in 2011.
- College of Computer and Information System, Umm Al-Qura University, KSA (two programs; Computer science and Computer Engineering). Both programs were accredited in 2014.
- College of Engineering, Al-Kharj University (Electrical Engineering program). The program is accredited in 2015.
- College of Engineering, Al-Taif University (3 different programs) applied this year. Accredited in 2016.
- University College (Computer Science and different engineering programs) at Al-Jamom, Al-Leith and Al-Quenfeda (branches of UQU). The visit will be in 2016.
- College of Computer and Information Sciences, Al-Majmaah. Two programs will be under consideration by ABET in 2017.
